Information:
The clubroom is located about 1.5 KM from the
junction in Dundrum. Located in St.Benildus College it was formed when the two clubs of
St.Benildus and Dundrum merged in 1990. We have five teams in our regional leagues. Our
top team in the Armstrong Cup usually are one of the top finishers. We have around about
forty members. Many of these members come from the junior section of the club.
The club has its own chess library which consists of
over two hundred books and we have videos as well. Throughout the year we organise
different events. We have regular simultaneous displays and blitz tournaments. Every year
in late June we hold a major tournament, the St. Benildus
Classic.
It is probably one of the cheapest clubs in Ireland
with a membership fee for juniors of £10 and for over 18's it is £20.
